On Saturday, January 19th, 2019, Karlsruhe’s vocational training fair EINSTIEG BERUF opened it’s doors at Karlsruhe exhibition center.
Training of apprentices has been a long tradition at König. Since 1935 we have been training apprentices in different vocations. Again this year, we participated as an exhibitor at Karlsruhe’s vocational training fair. We are currently looking for several apprentices to start their training as merchants in wholesale and foreign trade in September 2019.
On our exhibition booth we had a great number of interesting meetings. In addition, we participated in the speed dating event, during which interested school graduates were able to apply for an apprenticeship in a 10 Minute date.
At König, apprentices can benefit from the long term experience of their trainers and colleges. We offer profound training, a family-business structure, direct contacts and a flat hierarchy.
A nice start for the the New Year was the delivery of a brand new EDILPLUS edge polishing machine by Comandulli for the König test- and training center right on the first day after our annual holidays. Within 2 days, the new machine was installed and started.
EDILPLUS is the great PLUS for modern interior design and a very versatile edge polishing automat for production of ambitious work pieces.
The König test and training center is already equipped with one INTRA Bridge Saw by GMM and one Mill4X-CNC processing center by OMAG. This facility is used for testing of tools, machine demonstrations and customer training.
As always, many news and interesting solutions were presented on this year’s marmomacc. There was a lot to be discovered on the König stand. Great interest was paid to our new brushes to create unique surfaces. Moreover, our zero-joint system was one highlight together with the mobile sand blasting unit MTS 2.0 and OmniCubed transporting devices.
The stands of our machine partners Gmm, Omag, Comandulli, Italmecc and LiftStyle were very well frequented and presented the latest highlights from the world of production machines.
We thank all our customers and interested visitors for their visit, for great meetings and conversations. We are looking forward to seeing you again soon.

… this is how most of our customers wanted their strawberry cake on our exhibition booth. The serving of strawberry cake has become a very beloved König tradition. The customers love it. We loved the great crowd on our booth. Together with the machine partners, the Koenig booth was a great visitor magnet at Stone+tec. Over 1000 m² of exhibition surface speak for itself.
Very high interest was paid to our live arena. Tools for testing, many live demonstrations and numerous novelties fascinated our visitors. Also, the large booth with bronze decoration items together with our partner Filthaut was very well frequented. With our machine partners GMM, Omag, Comandulli and Italmecc we presented the latest highlights from the machine sector.
We thank all customers and interested potential customers for their visit and the good meetings. Look forward to the next Stone+tec 2020 when you can say again “with lots of cream please”.

“From professionals for professionals” was the motto of the workshop for tilers organized by Codex (construction chemicals), GranitiFiandre (producer of XXL tiles) and König, the tool specialist
König’s own test department in Karlsruhe offered perfect conditions for the participants. In 2 workshops in the morning and afternoon, 30 tilers were intensively trained on the issue of XXL ceramic tiles. The two small groups provided optimum conditions for intensive dialog with the experts.
The workshop covered training on material- and tools as well as correct handling and processing of XXL ceramics. Special interest among the participants and one highlight of the workshops were Jollys as stylistic means for professional tiling. Codex Bauchemie did a demonstration on epoxy resin joints.
Both expert speakers and master tilers Alexander Cornelius and Stefan Brossart actively integrated the participants into their lecture. Moreover, there were many tricks and tips on XXL formats. The contest for the thinnest cut stripe off a 3 m long tile became an exciting head-to-head race for the two winner awards: König F drill set box.
Manifold expert impuls and ideas came from Michael Spohr, training manager at GranitiFirandre. Also the two Codex area managers Sfeffen Wille and Benjamin Buser were able to offer a great number of tips and clues. Interesting facts about tools came from König’s Michael Thums and Tarik Azir.
The event was complemented by a common lunch.
The campaign afternoon at KÖNIG on March 17th, 2017 was visited by over 100 participants. Special interest was focused on the two workshops “laying and processing of large sized tiles”. The workshop provided a great range of ideas, tips and tricks for the participants. Acknowledged expert and master tiler Uwe Feustel from Moetzingen, also known as the “tile doctor”, mesmerized the audience from the beginning. Highlights during Feustel’s workshop in KÖNIG’s testing center was the active inclusion of the audience in cutting, drilling and jolly edging, accompanied by some magic tricks.
Starting at noon the visitors were welcomed in the KÖNIG profi shop with food and beverages. The professional exhibition with live demonstrations was carried out by companies Italmont, Eibenstock, Flex, Codex, Lithofin, Gerber and Roomclean with their “dustfree building site”. There was a lively exchange between visitors and experts presenting the latest trends and developments on the tiling market.
